I do not see many people in Univ. during Chuseok holidays, which, this year, is so long as 10 days. A few foreigners are keep working, but maybe in a little relaxed manner, around here.
I, being lazy for more than a year, have not successfully changed the length unit setting of the MS Office in my Windows VM. It keeps showing inches, maybe due to the interface language set English (US). But, I want cm and mm.
I think after I updated the Office software to 2013 or so, I can not find any setting items for those units in the Options.
I finally attacked this long annoying matter during these a little relaxed days. (I just Googled :-)
And, finally, it was found that the place is not in the Office options but in the Windows settings.
Here's another complain to the software giant. Where has the direct link to the "Control Panel" gone in the "start -> right click" menu?
Anyway, it seems that we are left with the only choice, click and click the "gear" icon for the settings.
The place is :
Time & language -> Region & language
-> Related settings (Additional date, time & regional settings) ->
(at this point an old control panel style dialog box appears...)
-> Region (Change date, time or number formats)
-> Additional settings
HERE, finally we find the "Measurement system"!!
Its stupidly deep ;-( isn't it?
When you successfully change the unit setting, you need to close gracefully four untidily scattered windows :-)
Thanks anyway, now, I can work happily with "cm" size settings when I paste figures and set paper margins.

さて, 私のWindows VMの中のMS Officeの長さの設定は, インターフェイスを英語にしてるせいかインチになっていて, もう1年以上もまじめに(?)変更していない. cmとかmmにして欲しいんだが...
どうも, Officeソフトウェアを2013に更新した頃からかOfficeの設定でこの単位の項目が見つからない. この少し穏やかな日々に, ついに意を決してこの長年の悩みに挑むのだった. （ググっただけ :-)
ついに解明. その場所はOfficeの設定ではなくWindowsの設定にあることがわかった.
もう一つM$への不満を言うと, "スタート - >右クリック"メニューの "コントロールパネル"へのリンクはどこにいっちゃったんだ？
まあ, とにかくしょうがないので, 歯車アイコンの設定をクリック, クリック...して...
その場所は：(日本語Windowsの項目を正確には知らないので以下は適当)
時間と言語 - >地域と言語
- >関連設定 （その他の日付, 時刻, 地域設定） - >
（この時点で、古いコントロールパネルのスタイルのダイアログボックスが表示されます...）
- >地域（日付, 時刻, または数字の形式を変更）
- >追加設定
ついに, ここで "単位系"が見つかる！
これは, アホらしいほど深くないか? ;-(
成功裏に単位の設定を変更した後は, 開き散らした4つのウィンドウを優雅に片付けて... :-)
とにかくおかげさまで, 絵を貼ったり紙の余白を設定するときに"cm"単位で楽しく作業できるようになった.
